Both the PS version and the CTP version use a pure aluminum plate as the base, and then coat the surface with photosensitive materials. CTP version is the product of computer direct plate making technology and is a high-end product of PS version. Its specifications are usually (0.14-0.38)*(400-1500)mm. The use of CTP technology can improve the efficiency and quality of product plate making and printing production.
The CTP plate base is directly plate-made by computer. This high-end product is widely used in offset printing plates such as positive PS plates, thermal CTP plates, photosensitive CTP plates, and UV-CTP plates.
The base material of the PS/CTP version is usually 1 series pure aluminum plate, of which 1050 aluminum plate and 1060 aluminum plate are the most common choices. These aluminum plates show excellent quality during the printing process and have the advantages of high print durability, environmental friendliness, hygiene and cleanliness, and reasonable cost. They also perform well in terms of resolution, writing clarity, printing speed and reproducibility.
The commonly used base material of PS/CTP plate is 1050A aluminum plate, which has certain requirements in terms of surface quality, flatness, thickness tolerance and performance.

1050 aluminum plate for PS CTP board base appearance requirements
- The appearance requirements of PS/CTP base are very strict.
- The aluminum plate base material must be kept clean and flat.
- Defects such as cracks, corrosion pits, dots or vents, scratches, creases, marks, peeling, pine branches, oil marks and other defects are not allowed.
- The surface shall not have defects such as non-metallic intrusion, adhesion, horizontal skin, or horizontal lines.
- There should be no slight color differences or bright stripes.
- There should be no bulging or ruffles on the aluminum plate.
CTP plate base has very strict quality requirements for plate surface and plate shape. Therefore, during the hot rolling process, product quality needs to be controlled by controlling processing parameters, optimizing processes, and manual inspection.
